If you go to Configure / Select Device > menu you can't > see all the chips? Pickit2 itself (with its dedicated software) supports a list of chips. That is what I assume are the 'supported chips' supported by piklab. The current MPLAB using pickit2 as programmer supports exactly one chip, the 16F917 (which is BTW a very interesting chip, a 16F877A++ but much cheaper). I guess this situation won't be long, but it is as it is right now.
