The original was made in '97 for a 16F84-04 and ported over to
a 12F675 sometime later (if I'd used a 12F675 in '97, if it was
available of course) I may have dropped the comparator stage,
using A/D instead. ISTR the 100k trimpot was there to match an
oddment of mics, rather than set a particular voltage
