I have always been Russell MAC-MARN, spelled McMahon.
My wife is firmly convinced that she is named MIC-MARN, as are 
numerous other people.
In Ireland they make it sound very nice - resembles MIC-MAH-HIN. The 
MIC is very under emphasised and sounds much nicer than what my wife 
thinks her name is.
