the former is proper the latter is common. (at end of sentence if a man i=

It doesn't come from the word foreigner.
Some say it comes from the Thai pronunciation of the word "Francais"
Some say it comes from the Persian word "farangi", which was used to refe=
r to Europeans, and deriving from the word "Frank", referring to the anci=
ent ancestors of the French.

Printing is more proper but usage in factories, bars, shops, etc.
sounds more like philong.

Also Rs and Ls are hard for the Thai to pronounce so the "rah" sounds mor=
e like ah
