This is a heads-up warning about Pericom.

These guys make some spiffy analog switches used for bus mux-demux,
and a few jelly-bean items.

I called them to verify an active status, and they said yes. I asked for 
samples,
they said yes. Looks like a decent vendor, right? So I laid out the PCB.

I didn't get any samples. When I tried a purchase, they were available but I
had to purchase a full reel (about 4500 devices).  Now I have to redesign
the PCB to a more reasonable vendor

Dealing with them is very slippery. Just a warning.
