Hey all,
I have a PicKit I starter kit. MP Lab IDE v7.3 and using the PicKit 1
programmer. The chip im using is the 14 pin 16F684.

I am trying to use one of the 12 lessons downloadable from microchip that
are supposed to be for the PicKit 1 .  Lesson 2 the state.c program.

When I try to build it I get errors like  undefined identifier "TRISIO"
which is undefined in the program so makes me think I should be including
another file.

currently my included files are pic.h and pic16f684.h.

Is there another header file I should be including?

I have a beginner book on the PIC and all of its code works fine.( except
for some typos which are easy to figure out. ).

Also, I would really rather do this in assembly.  I was always weak on
assembly. Is there a book or links that someone could recommend that
concentrates more on assembly for the beginning PICer?

Any help would be appreciated.
