I'm sure there is an easier way, but I came from the dark ages and generally I use debug to get an idea as to the chipset when unknown. At a command prompt enter debug or run debug. \Debug presents you with a dash for a prompt. At the prompt: -d c000:0 (enter key) - (enter key) - (enter key) This displays the beginning of the video BIOS which in most has information regarding the video chipset and possibly the manufacturer. An example follows: C:\Documents and Settings\irc>debug -d c000:0 C000:0000 55 AA 80 E9 48 07 00 00-00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 U...H........... I loaded Windows 2000 Pro. I don't know what drivers I need for the video. What comes up is the generic 16 color large font, terrible resolution video. I would appreciate some expert advice as to how to find drivers without knowing the chipset. > -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
