What would you do in my situation here?  We bought a door bell that runs on batteries and I connected it to the wires that lead to the button outside.  Within a few days the batteries are dead, so it seems there is some sort of short or something like that.  We just found out the previous owner had a problem with the door bell, too, probably the same thing.

I'm kind stuck about how to figure out the problem and fix it.  Would anyone mind please giving me some hints?
