I saw a very nice bright spectrum formed from sunlight on a hallway wall at home a few weeks ago. Couldn't think of anything that could have caused it. Traced the light back and it seemed to have been caused entirely by sunlight diffraction through the leaves of a large Magnolia tree in our back yard and then perhaps door and wall corners. Presumably a series of effective slits happened. Alas I didn't trace it back outside the house at the time for whatever reason and am now left wondering about the finer points of the mechanism. If I see it again I will try and make a point of hunting it down more thoroughly.
