I have always had problem with the default Firefox version under Ubuntu. It crashes very often... After sorting out an issue with SCIM, now I am happy with Firefox 1.5.0.4 under Ubuntu Breezy. It is much better than the stock 1.0.8 version. I just came across the following article and I just can not understand what is the issue. Why not just backporting 1.5.04 to Breezy? Or at least tells the user to switch to Firefox 1.5.0.4. I think Ubuntu people should be at least more pragmatic than the Debian people. http://lwn.net/Articles/186614/ If I compare Ubuntu Breezy and Fedora Core 4 (now both are the older but still supported version), it seems to me that FC4 got better update than Breezy. Right now I am still using Breezy as the main distro but maybe I will switch to 6.06 LTS 32-bit edition. I already have the 64-bit edition running but it is not easy to get some application to work under the 64-bit edition.
