Thank you all for the help you have given me to understand
and get my pulse circuit to work!

My PICs will be fed by a 15V supply over a 78L05 for each
PIC. Long power line, 200m, with about 10uF across to ground,
from the 78L05s input capacitors. I want a good power on
reset and I wonder if it is ok to leave the MCRL pin open,
trusting the internal pullup to do the work? GP3 is not set
up as an input.

The same question for GP2 and GP4 which are not used. I
plan to leave them open, as inputs with the internal pullup
on.
