The loss of Intel 8051s is not so interesting, but this is the death of the 251, 196, and 960 as ARCHITECTURES, isn't it? I don't think those were ever licensed to second sources (lots of places did their own speed-enhanced 8051 cores, but not actual 80251s...) (In a way, this shows how far behind Intel had fallen in the microcontroller marketplace? Have they really not had a leading microcontroller since the original 8051? Wow.)
