>Thanks! I've got one of those. It lets you program >DIP devices with an ICD-2. However there is no reason you couldn't use it in reverse, putting it in the programmer to get the RJ lead out to go to the PCB to be programmed. >Looking at my alternatives, I could buy an AC004004 >for my obsolete Promate II programmer, buy a PM3 >(which includes ICSP), or wait for Microchip to add >SQTP to the ICD-2. I wonder how quick Microchip will be? I don't believe they would ever add it to an ICD2. SQTP is really for a production environment, and an ICD2 is not a production programmer. If you really are producing low volumes that you wish to serial number then the scripting method suggested by Jan-Erik would probably be the way to go, and you could probably integrate that with a production programmer such as Olins Proprog. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
