He was thinking to a VOLT-meter of course. This question remebers me of one of my best friends in the highschool. He graduated finally medicine but also 3 years of electronics. It was the unique doctor with high voltage electrical diploma in the history of medicine, having two jobs, one as high voltage electrician and the second as stomatologist. On old times before all of those, he was trying to measure the internal resistance of a mains using an ohmeter. And he succeed.
