But this is the intention of Microchip CEO and people inside Microchip.
They want to be successful in the 16-bit market where they will
have higher growth. For US company on stock market, growth is the
keyword. They say the 8-bit growth is already not fast for them.

I will try. ;-) Maybe I will try to use LPC21xx and not Microchip in
my next job.
