I've been using the Maxim DS32khz in my clock designs. It's a 32.768khz output TCXO. DIP or SMD packages. It's good... but sure enough I'm finding it has availability problems. I used to be able to get it from digikey, but it hasn't been in stock for some time now. I quite like the part, simple, low power, works but I'm designing some PCBs to house my clock circuits and I want something I can actually get. I'd ideally like something small in a surface mount package that mear mortals can solder. No BGA's. Short term stability is not important however long term stability and accuracy is. I don't really have the means to calculate and measure magic calibration constants. If it can only loose a couple of seconds a year, good. 3.3V or 5V is fine. Power consumption is not an issue. A frequency output of less than 2mhz would be good, as it will be connected directly to Timer0's input pin on my PIC. A power of two will make my math a whole lot easier. Hell, I just want Maxim to actually make their products easilly available.
