All the next-gen consoles (PS3, Xbox 360 > and Wii) seem to be quite nice. PSP and NDS are also nice. There are > also a lot of online games. To me that is a waste of time and money... I perfer free games myself... FreeCIV is a really good Civilization clone, has a lot of features the original doesn't have. Also my brother made the Canadian race... Well maintained too, the latest version was released only a few weeks ago. It's genuinely free, even the artwork is open source. When I was younger I used to quite like Doom, although, it was making levels for it, not playing it, that I enjoyed most. It's got a number of good source ports for it that run on Linux and add a lot of features for level designers that the original didn't have. OpenTTD is another favorite of mine. It's a really good clone of Transport Tycoon Deluxe running off the original's artwork. Again there are a lot of features in it that the original doesn't have. I've literally spent days playing it building massive train networks with all sorts of complicated switching and what not. Very, VERY addictive, there is a good reason it's not installed on any of my computers right now... On the good side, it's inspired me to start work on a peice of art representing a large train network, with little ball bearings scooting around via magnets. No consoles for me... I can't even afford to buy many games, let alone some dedicated peice of electronics useless for anything else... -- pete@petertodd.ca http://www.petertodd.ca -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
