I don't like playing games on anything larger than a 17" monitor anyway, especially those involving fast movement. I once played the PlayStation (PSX, not PS2) version of Tunnel B1 on a 28" TV. Biiiig mistake... For anyone who has never played Tunnel B1, you basically have to race a hovercraft down a bunch of tunnels, really quickly. On large displays, it tends to make you "just a bit" dizzy after playing for more than, oh, say, ten minutes? Good game though. How can building a city then unleashing wave upon wave of disasters on it *not* be fun? Plus it's easier to play than SimCity 3000... 2. StarCraft. Command and Conquer in space. But a lot more fun. 3. Half-Life. One of the better FPSes, but not that good for playing with friends. 4. Unreal Tournament. Another half-decent FPS. Nice graphics (especially when you use the nVidia Video Overrides to enable full-screen 4x antialiasing and all the texture smoothing enhancements). Better than HL for multiplayer gaming, but not very good in single-player mode. 5. Need for Speed Underground 2. I like this game, shame it doesn't like me. Pesky thing won't load on my Athlon64 machine - it just sits on the "Loading game data" screen when you select "Explore mode" from the menu. Removing Patch 2 sorts the problem out, but then I can't play online... > Which games are you playing? All the next-gen consoles (PS3, Xbox 360 > and Wii) seem to be quite nice. Great fun to play Mario Kart DS online, but not enough fun to make me want to go out and buy one. I do have a Gameboy Colour, but no games (I hacked a Pokemon cartridge into a reprogrammable flash cartridge though). -- Phil. | Kitsune: Acorn RiscPC SA202 64M+6G VF+UniPod philpem@dsl.pipex.com | Cheetah: Athlon64 3200+ A8VDeluxeV2 1G+180G http://www.philpem.me.uk/ | Tiger: Toshiba SatPro4600 Celeron700 256M+40G -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
