Hi
On the disk I bought from Microchip it says MC18. 
It installs in a directory called \mcc18.
That might be what is causing the confusion.

There are various C compilers for the PIC 18 with similar names, so it's
important to be exact.  The Microchip C compiler is called "C18" or
officially "MPLAB C18 C Compiler", but not "mcc18".  I wouldn't assume mcc18
means C18 just because a few people use the term that way and Google found
it, unless of course it was on an official Microchip web page.  Once again
sloppiness and good engineering don't mix.
