Thanks Mike! What's the wattage and tolerance? Just got off the phone with a Metcal support person, and he said that he didn't have access to schematics. For a flat $160 fee they would replace the whole board. Which isn't too bad, considering the cost of a new one but if a $1.00 resistor will fix it that just makes me happier for obvious reasons. I have had a dodgy cable affect output so this may be the problem. My friend who told me this was trained by a factory rep from Metcal. I questioned that also, but he said it was straight from the horse's mouth. But when I talked to the rep a few minutes ago, he said that the cords do not fail often and when they do they fail open.
