In a place like London, where the streets are crowded, narrow, and with sharp corners, the obvious shape is the double-decker - takes up less space, and can get round corners easily. So what are they doing? Replacing them with double-length "bendy" busses which take up more than twice the space, can't get round corners, and have been known to catch fire!
