(not as attractive as the $10 cybikos, though :-)

The hotsync cradle SHOULD work ok as an rs232 cable/converter, but
you'll need additional software.  I had my wife's palm III talking
MIDI through the cradle to a keyboard, and that worked fine...
Alas, the surplus market appears to be flooded with Palm IIIs and
peripherals for Palm Vs.  Check out this neat keyboard:

keyboard uses the rs232 port, so it might be tricky to use the
keyboard/palm combo as an rs232 terminal.)
