Right. So, 2.95A is obviously way too high for the internal transistor,
Q1. Therefore I need to increase L to > 250uH

BTW, 2 typos in the OP

Rsc        = 0.33/Ipksw
           = 0.33/3.13 <--- should be 2.95 (3.13 from a previous calc)
           = 0.11R (0.17R)

Rbe        = (10 x Bf) / Ipksw
           = 10 x 20 / 858 x 10-3  <--- should be 2950 x 10-3, not Ipk
           = 233R (341)
