That's fairly metric if one disregards that sqrt(1000) ~= 31.6 meters which is very close to 100 feet. I have no strong preferrence against imperial measures, provided it is made clear *which* empire is under consideration. I.e. indicate the original corncob that serves as modulus. Indicating 12 different ones to be used according to the time of day and temperature won't do. Just show me the right one and keep the other 11 ;-) And yes, I know that Oz is metric.
