At least we know the metric system exists (I blame Ronald Reagan for the US), and if you insist loudly, you can actually buy metric bolts at ytour local hardware store. The Americans won't use metric (essentially decimal) but use pica (1/10"), 1/000 inch in machining, and of course, the good old micron. Not to mention the $. Weird. I figure if you can count your change correctly, you're ready for metric.
