Interesting. How "minimalist" is it? (i.e. disk size wise?).

With regards to RPM you are correct. However, modern distros of
Redhat/Fedora all have YUM, a tool much like APT which manages
dependencies.

Thanks to YUM I haven't played the "dependency" game in a LONG time! It
just works. :)
