I can listen to Paul McCartney's music on the radio for free, but I can't make CDs of it and sell it in the local market. Publishing something doesn't place it in the Public Domain - the copyright is still Herbert's (or Sir Paul's, as appropriate :-) > It's like you've plant a flower in the center of your city, > feed it every day with water and saying to everyone is looking to it > and smells it > (and sometimes brake it) : "This is my flower, it's my property!" > -how would you know if any information from this site would be used in > any commercial projects, if you'll don't receive feedbacks from the > owners of those? It isn't a physical item like a flower, it's a "work" so it's different, and Copyright is like that. Not being able to detect breaches of it doesn't make it any less valid (not getting caught doesn't make something legal!) [ An act being legal does not make it moral or fun AGSC ] > There are so antagonistic relations between you nice project > description > and your foot note, so I've just let you know. I don't see it that way at all - Herbert has done the work, and is allowing others to use it for their own personal projects free - that's a great attitude, and I applaud it. But he doesn't want others to make commercial products, making money from his work, without sharing some of that money with him. I think that's fine, because otherwise they would be making money for no effort of their own, using Herbert's efforts without rewarding him. [ I felt a lot like Vasile felt. First the friendly part and then a lot of scary verbiage. Which is pointless anyway. Protecting IP ( intellectual property ) is an expensive proposition . Much funner to throw it out in the public domain, like I do and others might consider. Act in a manner that is consistent with the way you would like the world to be. AGSC ] I don't see a problem here at all (it's similar to Wouter's attitude to WISP628, and actually quite common in the PIC arena).
