> It's pretty amazing how non-intuitive probability can be. I've always found probability (and combinatorics, topology, and some parts of statistics, and -after some time - matrix stuff) the most understandeable parts of maths. It's analysis, differential stuff, fourier etc. that I could not grasp. For a lot of people grasping and using seem to be completely different things. My wife did things with algebra in her university study that I could only look upon in awe. But she did not realy understand it, she just used it. She can hardly recall anything of it now. I on the other hand could do much much less with maths than she could, but I can still do most of it today, not because I ever used it but because I realy understood it.
