As part of the overall development of the MA ( multiAnalyser ),
I thought it would be sweet to have an option for the knob twiddler.

This would be a flat box with knobs and ???.   Dimensions could be
perhaps 300mm by 75mm by 26mm ( 12 by 3 by 1 ).
There would be bi-directional com via RS-232 and USB ( virtual RS-232 ).
The box would have knobs that had no rotational stops. ( although a stop
could be set by inserting a 4-40 bolt. )  Under each knob would be a  
place
to put a label.  On the deluxe model, the labels would be some kind  
of tiny
display.  There would also be selector switches.  I am wondering whether
these should be rotary.

Power could come from USB or wall wart.

I am looking for suggestions about any part of this idea.
