Hi.
A friend asked me if I could make him a test equipment which could test 
which of his skis has the best glide. This should be done by timing how 
fast the skier glides down a little hill. As he is competing in big 
contests he would like to have a light yet robust design which he could 
test the skis just before the contest. I think the best way to go would 
be to use IR and a reflector. One could then use a PIC to measure the 
time between point A and B. What do you think?
