Some companies presumably frown upon receiving 50+ messages a
day from outside that aren't clearly "work-related."

Seems counter-productive to me, what with the number of lists
(like piclist) that are truly educational in nature, but...  If
you've ever gotten ONE OF THOSE messages from HR, you'd understand...
