I guess PM3 is too expensive for the Linux PIC developers to support. ;-(
If one can donate a PM3 to some Linux PIC developers, perhaps it
will be supported under Linux (by reverse engineering).

PICStart+ is supported under Linux by picp.
ICD2 is supported under Linux by piklab.
PICkit 2 is also supported under Linux by piklab/pk2/pyk.

For non-Microchip tools, Wisp628A is quite good and is well supported
under Linux by xwisp2.
