I was referring to the package size relative to the power dissipation.  It
should be able to (and does) dissipate 1W without trouble.

The ENC28J60 is in full production as far as I know.  If you've heard
anything to the contrary I'd really like to know about it.  One of my
projects is a few months from volume production using that chip.
