It's almost impossible. I have crappy eyesight. Technically, I could get a license here in New York State, but that's more because of loopholes in the law than because it would be safe. I decided early on I'd rather be alive and walking. So, I live, work, and shop in an unusual small town that has worked hard to keep its downtown functional and pedestrian-friendly. It's a great place to be. Sorry for drifting further OT - I guess my point is that the car does not have to be the boss.
