OK, it ended up becoming a discussion between the other poster and myself. Right, I have found it. The problem concerned the S bit in a 16F818, and the OP was Ian Chapman, first message in the thread on 18 Jan. Look at http://www.piclist.com/techref/postbot.asp?by=thread&id=SSPSTAT&tgt=browse and it is the last thread listed.
