TI apparently has some new 14 pin versions of their low-power MSP430
line, and has introduced a new "usb stick" form of development system
that they're selling for $20 (hmm.  Not shipping yet...)  unlike the
recently mentioned SiLabs USB stick, the TI version has the micro
on a detachable board, and brings all the pins to usable contacts.

Also of interest is the fact that some of the new 14pin parts are
supposed to be available in DIP packages as well as SMD...

I haven't paid much attention to MSP430 in quite some time, but
it looks like things have been moving along pretty well over there.
