If I were you, I'd say "but was always taught that if you have to force something, then you _may be_ doing something wrong." :-) It's sad to see how _some_ electric things are made, because some parts don't fit nicely and this can discourage people. > So far as being a socket for a three-way bulb, I don't think it is. > There is just the one contact at the bottom. Also, the socket is marked "250V", which > seems a little bit strange. The mark in the socket "250V" says that can handle europan voltages too, don't worry about it. If the socket can handle 250V, it can handle 110V too. For instance, if the lightbulb fits into the socket, then it's a suitable socket :-) If you have any doubt yet, you could try to wire it at 5Vdc and measure with a voltmeter if the voltage between the threaded thing and the bottom goes on and off by using the switch. I'm pretty sure, however, that i've understood your description of the socket. > > P.S.- In Europe we have 220VAC (that's more scary) > Twice as scary, to be exact. :-) lol! :-D P.S.- Good luck with your experiments :-) Regards Metis Adrastea -- He comentado ya que tengo un blog?
