Where one pad is for the IC/servo pin and the other pad can be used for a wire to connect to a SX pin.  How do people connect other pads to a SX pin?  Do you try to get a socket pin and a wire in the same pad hole?  Or solder a wire on the part of the pin sticking out the back of the board?  I want to interface a DIP28.

 

A second question.  I assume that solid wire is prefered for board to board connections and stranded for off board.
