I'd really want to look at all the technical info. Board, schematic, key
component data sheets.


The chip has proper home values in EE, indicating that it did get proper
comms with the PC, and should have homed to the programmed address.
Is it possible that the system was restarted AFTER the failure, which would
re-write the home values?  That would conceal a previous failure where they
were written to zero.
