The FDTI chip normaly emulates a comport, and Mchip has a Comport driver and
FW as well.
I think however that a HID driver and FW is a better choice.

s where there is an HTML version, and a PDF version available for download.
The PDF version has all the design ideas from that issue, and this is the
second or third. Use the html version for the download link for the source
files (called complete.zip). It also has the FTDI driver, and Labview
interface module.
