I kind of enjoy hitting the "minimalist" button sometimes instead of the Tim "The Toolman" More Power button.  And, a friend was dumping his unused PIC stash in favor of AVR.  Gotta start somewhere.  And, one of the guys in our Warship Combat club is a PIC guy, who offered to help me get up to speed.  I figure, if I can do it at all on a PIC, I can do it better on an SX, and, in theory, any PIC stuff should port over pretty nicely.  After all, isn't PIC pretty much a slower subset of the SX?  Or, to put it another way, the SX is a PIC on steroids and caffein?
