At least I do not know until now. In fact, I seldom used the MPLAB simulator but it seems that it can really help out with debugging. In this case, I was following the MPSIM tutorial "Getting Started with MPLAB SIM --Using a USART/UART" yesterday and tried the code. MPSIM is really useful especially because that it steps into the source codes for the library functions.
