Hi Everyone! Yes, he had requested USPS Priority Mail rather than my standard 1.95 shipping. ...And, yep, I had to bump my normal shipping 10 cents due to the recent postal rate increase (I left it unchanged at 1.85 a couple years ago after that postage increase, but enough is enough -- heh, heh!) I have always expected to have the first issue of the newsletter out "pretty soon now" but life has thrown a few unexpected curve balls over the last couple years -- in addition to taking on a full-time teaching position in electronics at our local community college. Actually my teaching load is more than the normal full-time number of credits, and I'm also working like crazy to update the classes -- including using PICs instead of 6800s in the microprocessor classes. Kind of a one-man band, trying to keep yet another electronics technology program from biting the dust, as so many others have. I've been packing orders and emails this morning, and will soon switch hats and begin grading papers and getting ready for the classes later today. Then I'll come home and begin answering emails again. Email has become very unreliable in recent years, mostly due to insanely aggressive filters -- that many users aren't even aware of. Just this morning I've been trying all my tricks to get an email through to a high school teacher in Wisconsin who wants to order some stuff. Any words that suggest a transaction, and sometimes even the presence of my normal email address, seems to be grounds for that system to bounce or vaporize my replies. I've had some folks downright hostile when they don't get my replies, and it's very frustrating when I keep sending reply after reply that they aren't seeing. Certain days of the week are busier than others, and the beginning of the week (Mondays) is generally busiest in terms of emails and shipping packages. It tends to taper off as the week progresses. So when glitchbuster is very busy and the teaching load is heavy, I sometimes get a bit behind with things like shipping notification emails. A friend who teaches the soldering classes for me is interested in helping with the biz and we may get that going soon. Thanks to all of you for your support, and kind comments. Maybe the website will get updated this summer, and the first issue of the newsletter will definitely be out.... real soon now. ;^) -Randy > John, > > On Mon, 06 Feb 2006 14:30:22 -0600, VULCAN20 wrote: > >> I received my order today (FEB. 06) everything as described and in good >> condition. >> I had placed the order on Feb. 1, He shipped FEB. 2. good delivery from >> Nevada to Wisconsin. >> S&H only $4.85. > > It must have been something heavy - for ordinary components he usually > charges $1.85 within the US (and as > little as possible extra for us foreigners! :-) And using Global Priority > it often takes no longer to cross > the pond than you described above. > >> http://glitchbuster.com/ > > I have only praise for his standard of service, it's just a shame he > hasn't got time to update the web site, > and produce the newsletter that he announced a couple of years ago :-) > > Cheers, > > > > Howard Winter > St.Albans, England > > > -- > http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
