Of course, with 1:1 and no RC, if something goes drasitcally wrong, it is yourself on the line instead of just your work and $s.  Safety is definitely to be desired (of course, with 1/4" steel balls travelling about 200 f/s, and multiple pressure vessels in use on each ship, we take safety seriously as well).
