Hope it helps. It's part of a safety program for the 'big' boats, with on course / in dash warning lights. RC stuff works well for prototyping in this case.
Attached is a pic of the hydro build, for your amusement - not RC, but full scale. The 8 switches are the 'flags' red,yellow green...
for the driver.
