Most of the reports that I have read have indicated that the modem pins of a USB to serial converter cannot be controlled with the same precision as a traditional serial port. The only interaction that is guranteed to work with USB/serial converters are TX/RX interactions. So a bit wiggler that utilizes this mode will work in all circumstances.
