This is an interesting scenario. Let me explain why. If you commit a crime and the court accepts that you have multiple personalities and therefore you're not convicted on the basis of legal insanity, they're basically saying that your insanity IS in fact PROOF. In your scenario, it can still be proof, I think it is just a matter of finding the right lawyer for the job.
