I'm not sure that'd convince my wife, but it'd probably do a better

Modern bikes are neat.  They're the only thing that make my 1.5 hour
one-way commute across central IL (Mountains?  What the heck are
those?) enjoyable.  Or affordable, for that matter.  Though I could
stand a couple more curves in the road.
