I guess that 18F2550 based Wisp2550 programmer (as well as the
Wisp648) and PICkit 2 clones are some of the "vapourware" from Wouter. ;-)

And 18F2550 USB based EasyProg cum ICD2 killer are the "vaporware"
(noticed the different spelling) from Olin. ;-)

Hopefully these vaporwares will soon be reality. ;-)

And I guess the OP would not want some vaporware but rather something
tangible and PICkit 1 is quite a good choice.
