If cvs is meant to mean the actual program that maintains a versioned repository then it should really be spelled CVS to indicate formality (much as you would capitalize Electrical Engineering if you're speaking about a University dept.). However, spelled as cvs it should most likely mean a concurrent versioning system, which could mean any "cvs". :-) Ooh, 5am. Time for bed.
